New Years Resolutions for Parents

• I will breath before responding to my children in a moment of anger. (This way I will model being responsible about my reactions and then my kids will be too!)

• I will spend quality time with my children and create genuine encounter moments. (This will send the message they are important and I care.)

• I will take care of myself. (This will model that I matter and therefore make me a happier parent.)

• I will be balanced in my schedule and time management. (This will model a healthy life style for my kids.)

• I will have healthy boundaries and a solid behavior plan for my family. (This will create a safe environment for my kids to grow up in and keep me from losing control.)

• I will handle my emotions in a positive way (showing my children how to do the same.)

• I will treat others with empathy and kindness (showing my children how to be compassionate and caring.)

• I will avoid power struggle with my children and use effective communication skills (instead of overpowering them because they are small.)

• I will have set clear and appropriate consequences for their behavior (which will allow them to choose their behavior each moment & set them up to feel empowered.)

• I will create a safe space for my children to talk about the hard stuff (sex, drugs, alcohol etc) (so they do not need to get their information from their peers & I always know what is going on to keep them safe.)

The course will guide you in learning all of the tools needed to accomplish the above resolutions for you and your children. We are excited about starting off the year with you on track for the resolutions listed above. Just think ahead one year when we ring the bell for 2011---see yourself--- proud of what you accomplished and created with your family by committing to these goals and resolutions now! Your kids will thank you and you will be thankful you did.
