Signs that my child may being bullied:
Withdrawing from favorite activities
Decreased interest in school and school related activities
Decreased time spent with usual social group
Changes in appetite (may increase or decrease)
Starting to consistently miss the bus or delay morning routine
Show signs of anger or heightened emotions
Physical signs such as bruises or scrapes
Talk to your child and encourage them to stay away from the bully
Assure your child that it is not their fault
Role play words to use when they are faced with uncomfortable situations
Inform them of the adults he or she can go to for help and practice phrases to use without sounding like tattling
Assure them it is important for their safety and the safety of others to STEP UP AND SPEAK OUT!
