How do I know...am I doing a good job as a parent?
raffaella1030 December 15, 2008 1:49 PM

My daughter (age 7) is a very healthy, smart, independent, loving and happy little girl. I wonder, am I a good disciplinarian...am I too hard on her...just right...am I too abrupt when I discipline her and forget she is only 7 years old since she is so advance and mature for her age...sometimes I feel I am a bit "mean" to her, but I know when a child is being disciplined it is not the "nicest" way to be.
any advice and suggestions are appreciated!

Discipline with love. Discipling our children is to guide them and teach them lessons they need to be successful in life. If you are charged with emotion when you discipline then you are either taking it personal, waiting too long to set boundaries, or have expectations and upset when she does not meet them. So check in with what has you "being mean" when disciplining your child.
