Married with NO Children :(
One Life October 04, 2009 12:20 AM

I am a middle aged husband with a middle aged wife (whatever middle aged is... let's say 35-40 range) We have neveer "tried" for kids, and while we both want kids the cards dont have kids in the near horizon.

Today we were at a baby shower for a 49yr old man and 39 yr old woman having their 1st child. This got me thinking...:
When is too late? Will I be better (or worse) by waiting.

Being very athletic and active, I would love to have kids right now that I could play and be active with, and be competitive or fun for them. I have many questions about the phhyscality of being and older bodied parent. Does wisdom and experience off set any physical or generation gap issues?

Not to mention my wife's risks. That is a total other question. What is the cutoff for todays women. (My wife is healthy, eats very well, and is the older of us) What is the risks and what are my timelines?

My ego says "you'll be better parents now because you have grown in the last 10 yrs... heck, you could never have raised a kid 10yrs ago" I of course agree to the first part ( is it odd I answer my own ego with humor? Maybe I should name that voice in my head... which voice first?.... :).

Any words of wisdom?
